The exhibition Pacific Encounters: art and divinity in Polynesia 1760-1860, which was one of the outputs of the Polynesian Visual Arts project was recently redisplayed at the new Musée du Quai Branly in Paris. The exhibition, titled 'Polynésie: arts et divinités 1760-1860'  showed at the Musée from 16 June to 14 September 2008. A French edition of the catalogue was produced to coincide with the Paris opening. See the Musée du Quai Branly website for more details of the exhibition.

Also connected with the exhibition, the SRU and the Musée du Quai Branly jointly convened a symposium 'Exhibiting Polynesia, Past, Present and Future' in Paris on 17-18 June 2008. See the SRU website for more details.
